FOXIQL5 Studio

The development environment we use on every Logix job.

L5 Studio reads and writes Studio 5000 L5X exports directly. It is how we review, standardize and verify client code without tying up Studio 5000 seats, and it is coming to client teams next. Studio 5000 is only needed for the final compile and download.

What it does

In daily use on FoxIQ code reviews.

  • Whole projects, losslessly. Controllers, tags, programs, routines, tasks, modules and user-defined types. Open an export, change it and write it back without losing anything Studio 5000 put in.
  • Ladder and Structured Text. Reads ladder logic and Structured Text in full, including hundreds of Logix instructions, so reviews cover the actual code rather than a summary.
  • Compare and review. See exactly what changed between two versions of a project before it goes to the controller.
  • FoxIQ standard libraries. Start from documented, maintained Add-On Instruction libraries instead of copying whatever the last project used.
  • No seat bottleneck. Review and edit on any engineer’s machine. Keep your Studio 5000 licenses for compiling and downloading.

Where it fits

  1. Studio 5000: export L5X.
  2. L5 Studio: review, compare, edit, standardize.
  3. Studio 5000: import, compile, download.
